Blue Lip Selfie Mouth Cancer Action
Mouth Cancer Awareness with Blue Lip Selfies
The Blue Lip Selfie Campaign – commonly referred to as #BlueLipSelfie in social media circles – represents the lighter side of the deadly serious message behind the Oral Health Foundation’s Mouth Cancer Action Month which runs throughout the month of November each year.
The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness for Mouth Cancer, by encouraging as many people as possible to share individual and group selfies around a blue-lipped theme. There is a variety of ways you can render yourself blue-lipped, from plastic lips or blue lipstick, to low-tech cutouts on a stick and high-tech wizardry at the #bluelipselfie online gallery.
We’re passionate about raising public awareness for Mouth Cancer, so we love to get involved in the campaign each year. We see the #BlueLipSelfie campaign as a great way of shining a light on a disease which claims more lives than testicular and cervical cancer combined. Certainly, the incredible number of blue lip selfies appearing on Twitter would suggest it’s working.
#BlueLipSelfie – Get Involved!
We would love to see more people get involved so we thought we’d spread the word beyond our customer-base, by sharing the story here through our blog and via social media.
Show Us Your Blue Lip Selfies!
Everybody of any age can participate in the Blue Lip Selfie campaign so we’d love to see you get involved!
If you have Blue lipstick, or Blue Lips of your own, all you need to do is take a selfie, with family, friends or colleagues, or simply on your own, then show us your results.
Show us your results by posting to our Facebook page or by including the following on Tiwtter in a tweet:
#MouthAware #bluelipselfie @BalsallDental
Then we will get to work sharing your photos with our online community.
If you don’t have blue lips or blue lipstick of your own you can order them online, or upload your photos to the official blue lip selfie gallery at bluelipselfie.co.uk – where you can add your fun blue cartoon lips online.
You can read more about the selfie campaign by reading the: Show off your #bluelipselfie section at the Oral Health Foundation’s website.
