What are lingual braces?
We use the Incognito lingual brace system from 3M. Lingual braces are essentially the same thing as traditional train tracks. Only thing is, this version sits tongue-side, on the backs of your teeth. And since they’re hidden by the pearly whites in front, they’re virtually invisible to the people you interact with.

How do lingual braces work?

Like traditional train-track style options, lingual braces use metal brackets and wires to realign your teeth. The brackets and wires attach to the backs of your teeth, rather than the front, which is what makes them “invisible”.
Throughout the treatment, your lingual braces can be customised to increase your comfort and maximise their effectiveness.
They’re no more painful than regular braces, though you are likely to experience a dull ache as your teeth begin to move. The pain will subside and you’ll get used to the feeling of the brackets against your tongue before you know it!
