Orthodontics

Ever since we opened back in 2000, orthodontics has been a special focus for us here at Balsall Common Dental Practice.

Over the years we’ve treated thousands of patients, and helped them:

  • Straighten and align their smiles;
  • Boost their confidence;
  • Help them feel less self-conscious;
  • And improve their dental hygiene in the process.

If you’re looking for orthodontic treatment, the best way to start is with a consultation.

During the initial consultation, we’ll examine your mouth, and understand exactly what you’re looking to achieve.

Only once we’ve done that will we make recommendations in terms of which orthodontic treatment is most suitable for you.

What orthodontic treatment is available at Balsall Common Dental Practice?

This is a video explaining orthodontic options

We provide a full range of orthodontic treatment for our patients, both young and old:

Traditional braces

Traditional fixed braces are still a very efficient way of straightening your teeth, and they’re cost-effective too. Available in the traditional metal, or clear ceramic, they work to gradually improve and straighten your teeth.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners help to straighten and align your teeth, without being as obvious as traditional braces.

The clear aligners we can provide really are almost invisible, and you can remove them, making eating and brushing much easier. With no metal, clear aligners don’t cause mouth abrasions, which makes them a particularly comfortable option.

Invisalign and Clear Correct are both common brand names of Clear Aligner but there are many more on the market.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are attached to the backs of the teeth to straighten and improve your smile without being visible. Generally, lingual braces take a little getting used to, and they’re definitely not for everyone, but if you’ve got mild to moderately crooked teeth, and you want completely invisible braces during treatment, these could be the braces for you.

Rapid braces

You might have come across brand names like Six Month Smiles, Fastbraces, Inman Aligners and the Damon System – these are all examples of rapid braces. If you’re looking to quickly improve your smile and straighten your teeth, a rapid brace could well be the right option for you. Able to work in as little as six months, rapid braces are perfect if you’re looking to achieve transformation in a short space of time.

Children’s braces

If your child is in need of a brace, they can benefit from treatment that avoids waiting lists, offers after-school appointments and focuses on avoiding extraction.

Clear aligners, rapid braces and traditional braces are all options for our younger patients. When we first meet, we’ll explain which solution suits you best and help you decide in which direction to go.

How does orthodontic treatment work and is it for you?

Orthodontic treatment straightens your teeth, as well as correcting bite problems. In most cases this involves wearing braces; either fixed or removable.

If you:

  • Have misaligned teeth that cause you discomfort or a lack of confidence…
  • Have crowded teeth that are difficult to clean…
  • Have crooked teeth, or an overbite or underbite…

…then there’s a very good chance that you can benefit from orthodontic treatment.
